Handsome Little Guy!

Happy Birthday Regan!!
I loved photographing one of his most memorable milestones! His first birthday! Of course I was so honored and felt so blessed to be his photographer, especially since he is a friend of my 1 year old daughter and they share the same birthday month!!
I loved all the adorable facial expressions we captured in his photographs. And I especially love the sweet look on his face with Mom holding him!
You guys were awesome! Thank you for letting me capture such a precious momen
t in your lives!

Family Bond

I photographed this family a couple weeks ago. What a joy it was for me! I couldn't help but to be overtaken by the feeling of a strong family bond. It was so evident how much they love each other! And of course, I don't even have to mention how beautiful they are - the pictures speak for themselves! I loved the black backdrop and simple attire. When I look at these photos I am immediately drawn to their faces, expressions and affection towards each other.
Thanks for letting me capture your lives!

Candid!

This is another picture from my most recent photo shoot. This will probably always be an all time favorite of mine! Why? It makes me giggle!! Often times while photographing children, we end up doing.....well, just about anything to get them to laugh and have a natural smile or expression on their face! In this case, my friend Heather was tickling her boys to get them to smile. So they decided they were going to tickle her back!!!!!! I absolutely love what I captured in this photo. Mom is cracking up as the boys adoringly look up to see the reaction on her face. I love candid shots like this. It not only captures the moment, but the personalities and fun-loving bond between them. And I got to be a part of it all! You guys were so fun to work with! Thank you!

Sweetest Love

There is something to be said of the love between Mom and child. In this case particular, it is my friend, Jessica and her oldest son. These photos are from my latest photo shoot. I had the honors of photographing Jessica and her 4 children and Jessica's twin sister, Heather and her two boys. It was by far the most exciting photo shoot I've had! We all had so much fun! The kids were awesome to work with! {More photos from this shoot will be posted soon}
I will have to say, these two are some of my favs! I love the first one - well, I think it just speaks for itself! The second one came out perfect - it's almost like they are a mirror image of each other.
Thanks guys - I had so much fun working with you. I was honored to be a part of your lives and to capture who you are and what you mean to each other.

Tea Time!

This photograph was taken by an awesome photographer with tremendous talent!! All of her images are truly breathtaking! A dear friend of mine (Amy) gave me Emmy's shop name in Etsy - this is where I happened upon the photograph. The moment I saw it - it totally captivated me. It spoke more than a thousand words to me . . . . yet left me speechless. Time seemed to stand still for that moment as my mind went back about 20 years or so. Let me take you with me for a moment to that special time in my childhood. I was probably about 7 or 8 years old the very first time it happened. My brother, John, was 2 years my senior. The weather outside was cold, probably late November or early December. My Mom gently put her hand on my arm to wake me up - "Sandy...it's time to get up for a tea party!" It was probably around midnight. John and I followed Mom to the dining room and sat around the wood stove. Dad was hunting, so it was just the three of us. We sat in front of the warm, crackling fire and drank our hot tea (Bigelow's Constant Comment, of course!). As a child this was the neatest thing - I felt so special! My Mother would do this periodically - always a surprise (except I think I might have put in a couple special requests)! She loved the tea parties as much as John and I did. I could see her face light up as she would reminisce about her childhood and tell us stories. I loved asking her questions. She would tell us of her parents whom we never got to meet. Other times we would just chat about everyday things. It was a very sweet time in my childhood. As the years went by, my father stopped hunting and so ended the tea parties. I think if there were ever a time that I could go back to, even for a minute, that would be one of them! It's a favorite memory of mine. I will probably do tea parties with my children in a few years as they get a little older. I hope they love them as I did!!
You can imagine my surprise, when one day I got a little package in the mail. It was the "Tea Time" photograph by Emmy C. Ludwig. A gift from my friend Amy!! Thank you Amy!! I was so touched! This is a little tribute to you! I thank God for you and what a blessing your friendship is to me! And of course I cannot forget to say thank you for setting my blog up for me! What an awesome gift!
